The online world is rapidly developing. This has consequences for those who cannot keep pace with the rate of change. Many with safeguarding responsibilities for those we might consider more at risk, do not understand developments or feel confident online. They may be struggling to understand risks of harm or even the benefits of inclusion in the digital sphere. Because of this, it’s vital that those supporting young people and adults who are considered more at risk, have access to support in understanding risk, safety and inclusion in this fast moving technological era. Safeguarding responsibilities include identifying and where possible mitigating risk of harm. This requires understanding what the risks and harms may be.
DIST (Digital Inclusion Safety Training) exists to support anyone involved in the support of young people or adults more at risk or vulnerable due to their personal circumstances, life experiences or special educational needs. We provide training, workshops and packages designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding. DIST also aims to equip you with tools to better support those more at risk online.
Those who will benefit from DIST services includes: Parents/carers, childminders, children’s homes, schools, social services departments, child and adolescent mental health services, support providers, youth services, youth offending services
